By brushing white porcelain slip onto a dark clay body, then stretching the clay to crack and distort, a unique look is achieved. Akira will also demonstrate his style of making tea ceremony bowls(chawan), ikebana vases and teapots, all influenced by Japanese wood fired pottery from the Momoyama period of 1568-1615. www.akirasatake.com For more information call 575-770-4334 ~ www.taosclay.com
